Ok, here’s the deal.
The fact is that body shaming and diet schemes packaged as “lifestyle change” are everywhere. With just a splash of willpower, you too can finally achieve “wellness”! (Ugh.)
There’s so much talk out there using co-opted concepts like “healthy” and “body positivity.” Things start off looking and sounding legit, but when you do a little digging and see stuff like “weight loss” and “clean eating,” you realize it’s just more.of.the.same.
It’s so easy to get sucked into the idea that changing your body or losing weight is the thing standing in between you and what you really want out of life. (That’s because diet culture is everywhere, and no one is magically immune!) But going down that road will never bring the “results” you desire. In some ways, you’ve already started realizing that.
Because you’ve never experienced resolution around food or your body image struggles through a focus on your external appearance, right? So is it possible, then, that changing your body isn’t actually what it takes to feel more peace, freedom, and aliveness in your daily life?
(Spoiler alert: yes, it’s 100% possible. And I’m here to tell you all about it.)

Let’s try a few different ideas on instead, shall we?
What if…
- There is no magic diet?
- There is no body shape or size that will finally unlock true happiness?
- There are no plans or rules that won’t wreak havoc on your relationship with food?
- There is no form of intentional weight loss that will let you live at peace with food and your body?
How does that make you feel? Intimidated? Curious? Like someone’s finally telling the truth, tough as it may be to swallow?
All of your reactions are valid. Learning about anti-diet approaches and fat acceptance is radically different from what we’ve been socialized to believe about our bodies. This is basically like learning a new language, and that takes a lot of time, attention, and practice.
But here’s the thing: When we’re socialized to never feel okay, worthy, or free just as we are, our sense of belonging vanishes. We’re trapped all alone in an endless and shame-filled cycle of “self-improvement.”
When we can find care, self-compassion, and real community, though? That’s when we can begin dismantling diet culture. That’s when we can prioritize what really matters to us instead of wasting time, money, and energy on more shame and struggle. That’s when we can claim our liberation and connect with our authentic (and yes, gorgeous) self.
INTRODUCING
Hello, Gorgeous
8 Weeks of Dismantling Diet Culture, Reclaiming Your Health, and Constructing a Path to Body Liberation
With the support and community of a small group, over 8 weeks of coaching you’ll learn to:
Examine and challenge the harmful information
that has shaped your critical voice
Absorb actual fact-based information
that teaches your critic a new way of nurturing and protecting you
Practice ways to feel more embodied
and prove to yourself that you can trust your instinct
Engage the healing power of self-compassion
to find forgiveness and acceptance
Establish new boundaries
to handle unwanted external energy
Promote an abundant mindset, rather than one of scarcity
Inspire a desire for social justice and paying it forward
In this safe space for your questions, fears, and dreams, we’ll unpack the mindsets and cultural forces that have been holding you back – and replace them with beliefs and actions that help you live the life you want right now.

And hey:
Unlearning is a process that takes time and can be intimidating or uncomfortable. Even though in this case, discomfort is actually a good thing (a sure sign that change is a-brewin’!), feeling hesitant is totally understandable.
But if you can connect with the part of yourself that’s curious enough to take the first step, there is so much goodness waiting for you ahead. Need help sooner?

What do the experts have to say?
Care and community are the healing way forward.

“If we want an alternative to diet culture, we have to actively seek out and create anti-diet culture for ourselves…
we need to reclaim our right to community support…[a]nd the first step in that process is realizing we’re not alone in having struggled under the oppression of diet culture.”
-Christy Harrison, Anti-Diet

“We blame our bodies for the ways in which weight stigma and bias are baked into the entirety of our society.
It’s important for us to keep coming back to [the fact] that it’s not about you as an individual. It’s about the larger system that we’ve all been conditioned to believe in varying degrees.”
-Sonya Renee Taylor, The Body is Not an Apology

"I am so beautiful, sometimes people weep when they see me.
And it has nothing to do with what I look like really, it is just that I gave myself the power to say that I am beautiful, and if I could do that, then maybe there is hope for them too. And the great divide between the
beautiful and the ugly will cease to be. Because we are all what we choose.”
– Margaret Cho

⧫ Liberated Life Coach
⧫ Anti-Diet Advocate
⧫ Mama of Daughters
I’m a therapist-turned-coach with 20 years of combined experience in trauma therapy, family and group counseling, child welfare, social work, and disordered eating. As your coach, I also bring expertise in Health at Every Size®, Intuitive Eating, Body Trust®, and Internal Family Systems to our work together.
I also have lived experience as a fat woman, currently in active recovery (because it really does last a lifetime) from disordered eating and diet culture, and managing my own anxiety, grief and loss. I am the mama of two young daughters, a role that has energized me more than anything else to do everything I can to spread the anti-diet and fat liberation messages, not just in our little family bubble, but into our surrounding community and beyond, with them, through them, and on behalf of them.

Got questions, gorgeous?
I’m here to answer them!
What are the call dates and times?
The program schedule is currently being finalized! When you join the waitlist, you’ll get first-dibs info on when it’s all happening.
What if I have to miss a session?
In order to protect confidentiality and maintain safety for participants, group sessions are not recorded, so you will need to be present to benefit from the group discussions. If you need to miss a session, you will still receive the weekly email with the “homework” and resources, as scheduled. I understand that things happen sometimes; I just ask that you drop me a line and keep me in the loop.
Will working with you help me lose weight?
We don’t know what will happen to your weight when you give up dieting, and it doesn’t matter at all in terms of your health or worthiness. When you work with me, our focus will be on shifting perspective, changing harmful and counterintuitive habits, and enhancing your quality of life. I do not offer weight loss services.
Do you provide nutrition advice or counseling?
I do teach the principles of Intuitive Eating and focus on themes around food and hunger, however I am not a dietitian or nutritionist and I do not offer medical advice.
Are Health at Every Size® and Intuitive Eating based on evidence?
Even though I have personal experience with recovery from disordered eating, coaching with me is far from a bunch of “I did it, so you can too!” advice that isn’t based on scientific evidence.
There are so many factors- many out of your control- that impact health, including genetics, medical conditions, discrimination, food insecurity, and trauma. Health at Every Size®, Intuitive Eating, and self-compassion have a robust research base that actually accounts for major factors like weight stigma and other forms of oppression that are completely missing from the studies we see gracing the mainstream headlines. We’ll talk all about it!
Are you providing therapy or coaching? What’s the difference?
While I do have a license in mental health counseling, I’ll work with you as a coach. This means that I can work with anyone, anywhere (yay!) and that I do not diagnose or treat mental illness when we partner together.
Coaching typically focuses on your present to help you with future goals. Therapy typically examines your past to help you manage your present, and therapists diagnose and treat disorders and work with unresolved traumas.
While coaching and therapy are not the same, they are compatible and even complementary. Both coaches and therapists can help you identify strengths, needs, and ways to overcome obstacles that are holding you back.
Are you available on-call or in an emergency?
No. Because this is not a therapy relationship, I will not be available to assist with any mental health crises. If you are experiencing a mental health or medical emergency, please contact emergency services in your area.
Can we work together if I have a health condition?
While everyone who could benefit from this work is welcome, it is best that folks who are medically unstable or are consistently in acute crisis seek medically-based care and/or mental health treatment. If you are currently suffering or actively recovering from an eating disorder, please consult with your medical provider/team prior to working with me. If you have questions about your particular situation, I’ll be happy to share my recommendation as to whether coaching is right for you at this time.
Do you accept insurance?
Unfortunately, health insurance does not reimburse for coaching services. On the plus side, taking insurance out of the equation allows me to offer equity pricing and to focus 100% of my time and energy on client care.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes! Both my individual session and group program tracks offer equity-based pricing options.
Do you offer refunds?
To preserve the integrity of the group, all group program enrollments are final. If there are extenuating circumstances, reach out and we can discuss.
Do you ever meet in-person?
In an effort to make myself accessible to anyone anywhere, all sessions with me are conducted virtually.
Is there anyone who would not be the right fit for your services?
If you are seeking a weight-loss program, you won’t find it here. But if you are genuinely curious and looking to ask more questions, great! You may not feel full on-board with anti-diet concepts yet, and that makes sense. There’s a lot of unlearning to do!
Participants in Hello, Gorgeous! pledge to follow certain community standards and diet/weight talk, body policing, food shaming, health trolling, and any form of discrimination will not be tolerated.
Is the group program or individual coaching the best fit for my needs?
If you are unsure how best to work with me, I am happy to meet for a free 30-minute discovery call and we can figure it out together!
